Overview

The total revenue of the Services sector recorded RM630.0 billion,  registering a positive growth of 6.0 per cent as compared to the same quarter in 2024. On a quarterly basis, total revenue registered a growth of 0.3 per cent. 

The total number of persons engaged in this sector amounted to 4.5 million persons, an increase of 1.9 per cent against the corresponding period of the previous year. For quarterly comparison, the number of persons engaged rose 0.3 per cent.

Salaries and wages in the first quarter of 2025 posted a growth of 4.1 per cent to reach RM33.6 billion compared to the same quarter a year ago. Compared with fourth quarter of 2024, salaries and wages increased 1.0 per cent.

Meanwhile, Malaysia's e-commerce income reached RM310.6 billion, reflecting an increase of 3.4 per cent year-on-year. For a quarter-on-quarter basis, e-commerce income saw an increase of 0.1 per cent.
