The ocean covers more than 70 percent of earth and millions of people depend on ocean for they livelihood. Ocean accounts serve as comprehensive records that systematically compile and standardize data related to various aspects of the ocean environment, economic activities, and social conditions. Ocean accounts will provide information on economic activities related to ocean and their contribution to GDP. The System of Environmental Economic Accounting, Ecosystem Accounting (SEEA, EA) will provide assets (stock and flows) either in physical or monetary term. Furthermore, the residual from economic and human activities to ocean also can be assess to ensure sustainability.
