With assistance from the UN Secretariat and Bureau of the Statistical Commission, about 500 representatives from 98 countries, 37 organisations, and three non-governmental organisations have successfully concluded their critical decisions and recommendations that will be put into action by the international statistical community in the upcoming year. The
#UN54SC session of the Statistical Commission emphasises the importance of quality assurance for official statistics for
#BetterDataBetterLives, with 302 written statements from 41 countries and in-person oral declarations. Malaysia will keep working with the Bureau, the Secretariat, and other global statistical communities to formulate strategies to elevate the role of statistics for evidence-based decision-making and accomplish the commission’s goals in the fields in which it is most interested in enhancing national and global statistical systems.
