???? Highlights:
The conference aimed to celebrate CRVS Decade achievements, assess gaps based on the 2025 review, align the Decade with the 2030 Agenda and strengthen commitment to inclusive and resilient CRVS systems. A total of 47 countries participated in the Third Ministerial Conference, comprising 40 ESCAP member States, 5 associate members and 2 observer countries. In its country statement, Malaysia reaffirmed its national efforts through legal reforms, inter-agency data integration and collaboration, MEKAR mobile registration, digitalisation via MyDigital ID, AI, the transition to ICD-11, and timely data dissemination on vital statistics. Malaysia also hosted the side event titled “Digitalisation and Innovation in Civil Registration and Vital Statistics Towards the 2030 Agenda” highlighting cross-country collaboration and innovation. The conference concluded with the adoption of the Ministerial Declaration and Report. The participants in the Third Ministerial Conference on Civil Registration and Vital Statistics in Asia and the Pacific adopt the Ministerial Declaration on a Decade of Action for Inclusive and Resilient Civil Registration and Vital Statistics in the Asia and Pacific region.
