Key themes included enhancement of survey methodologies, integrating time-use data with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and exploring advanced data analysis techniques. Participants learned about innovative survey tools like time diaries and mobile apps, emphasising their application to design more accurate and efficient surveys.
The workshop highlighted the importance of collaboration between various stakeholders, continuous training for staff, and establishing regular data collection mechanisms. Real-life examples underscored the policy relevance of time-use data, while discussions on emerging issues, such as the impact of remote work, stressed the need to adapt data collection strategies. Leveraging international support and guidelines was also emphasised to ensure national time-use statistics meet global standards.
