The study visit officially commenced with a welcoming session and opening remarks by the Chief Statistician of Malaysia, who highlighted the value of regional collaboration and innovation in modernising statistical systems. The Head of LSB also delivered opening remarks, expressing LSB’s strong commitment to mutual learning and cooperation. The programme continued with:
An introductory presentation by LSB and exchange of views on current practices An overview of Malaysia’s Statistical System by DOSMA session on MSBR and NEWSS, covering business code classification, Quality Improvement Screening (QIS), and updating the MSBR. A presentation on the Real-Time Business Status (RTBS) – highlighting the process and development of this initiative as part of DOSM’s efforts to modernise business statistics
A strong and engaging start to the programme, laying the foundation for meaningful knowledge exchange and stronger institutional linkages in advancing ASEAN’s statistical ecosystem.
