The group served as a platform to facilitate the exchange of experiences, good practices, and lessons learned primarily among ASEAN Member States and key relevant technical partners to build capacity for ASEAN and ASEAN Member States. The aim is to generate and use gender statistics for tracking progress in the implementation of the SDGs and other gender indicators, including progress towards the gender-responsive implementation of ASEAN Community Vision 2025 and beyond, the Sendai Framework, and other relevant international commitments relevant to ASEAN Member States. In order to begin this work, the first meeting of this group brings together decision-makers from National Statistics Offices and key Line Ministries that can contribute to conceptualising its mission.
