Congratulations to Cameroon, the newly elected Chair from the Africa Group, and Saudi Arabia, the vice chair representing the Arab Group. Malaysia shared its successful practices and experiences using geospatial technologies to enhance census activities and the development of Sustainable Development Goal 8 Indicators, focusing on decent work and economic growth in the country.

Day-2:
Good practices for improving e-learning programs in official statistics were considered crucial for enhancing statistical capacity development. The involvement of relevant stakeholders, including NSOs, international organisations, and subject-matter statistical capacity development experts, was deemed of vital importance in the design and implementation of enhanced e-learning programs. This ensured that the e-learning programs were aligned with the recommended guidelines in the field. During this session, the participants were briefed on the FAO e-learning Academy and its e-learning methodologies and good practices. In contrast, initiatives for e-learning programs on official statistics topics were shared by AITRS and UNESCWA. Additionally, the OIC countries shared experiences and best practices in e-learning programs based on official statistics. DOSM availed itself of the opportunity to strengthen its strategic partnerships with member nations, thereby providing valuable guidance for advancing national statistical systems and contributing to the development of the OIC at a regional scale.
