The Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM) extends its heartfelt thanks to Her Excellency, the Director General of SESRIC, and the esteemed delegation for their visit today. The discussion between the two leaders has provided us with a valuable opportunity to enhance the existing cooperation level and discuss the direction of statistical development at the national and OIC levels. The OIC Statistical Commission (OIC-StatCom) is an essential platform for discussing and sharing insights on statistical themes, spanning general topics and those unique to OIC countries. Malaysia is pleased to contribute its expertise and best practices to this commission. Malaysia believes that SESRIC will lead this commission with a well-researched agenda that effectively meets requirements and addresses challenges and statistical gaps among OIC member states. The Statistical Capacity Building (StatCaB) Programme, in operation since 2007, has been a vital resource for OIC countries. Malaysia has been fortunate to both receive and provide expertise towards its success. DOSM is pleased to renew the MoU signed in 2020, extending our partnership and collaboration with SESRIC.
