Take home-points:
Subregional Training on Gender Statistics for Monitoring the SDGs brought together data producers and users from ASEAN countries to emphasise the role of gender statistics in the monitoring of the SDGs. Participants learned about gender statistics complexity, data literacy, and how to minimise errors. Participants also explored the components of data, policies, applications, and methods of collection to emphasise the significance of strategies, microdata analysis, and multi-level disaggregation for inclusive development. This training also highlights how crucial a statistical framework is in achieving SDGs and gender parity, as well as how important good communication and user-producer interactions are. With such knowledge, participants are better prepared to use data-driven activities to effectively support the vital objective of advancing gender equality and sustainable development.
