The Vital Statistics Malaysia, 2011 presents final statistics on births and deaths for 2010 and preliminary estimates for 2011 at Malaysia and state levels. The demographic indicators, such as birth, death and fertility rates are also included in this report. Calculation of these indicators in this report using the population estimates based on the 2010 Population and Housing Census, which had been adjusted. Selected tables by ethnic group, age and sex are also presented.

Vital statistics is the main component used for formulation of policies at national and international levels. Information on population, fertility and mortality are useful for policy planning in the areas of health, education and human resource development in Malaysia
