The Statistical Handbook of Malaysia, 2012 presents basic statistical information on selected topics of interest, with the main aim to provide users with an easy reference on the demographic, social and economic trends in Malaysia. Key data and charts are given at the beginning of the handbook to further assist users in understanding the basic socioeconomic trends of the country.

It is hoped that this handbook will serve as a useful and convenient reference about the country. However, users are encouraged to refer to specific publications of the Department for more specialised needs. As this handbook will be continuously reviewed in term of its contents and presentation, therefore suggestions from users toward further improvement are most welcomed.
