This publication contains statistics on the construction sector. The statistics are compiled from the Quarterly Construction Survey. The survey canvasses the main contractors with project value of RM500,000 and above.

The data presented are based on the value of construction work done for the reference period from the first quarter 2008 to the first quarter 2013. It also presents data by types of construction activity, state and construction project ownership by the government, private sector and public corporation. The data are used to facilitate analysis by the government and users.

Technical notes which relate to the objective, scope and coverage together with concepts and definitions used, are included in this publication to enhance the understanding of the data.
