The preliminary report presents statistics on the distributive trade sector which encompasses the wholesale trade, retail trade and motor vehicles sub-sectors. Information provided here is gathered through the Census of Distributive Trade conducted in 2009 for reference year 2008.

The main objective of this report is to publish data relating to revenue, expenditure, number of persons engaged, salaries & wages paid and value of fixed assets for economic planning and policy formulation as well as for economic projections and analyses.

This report consists of three parts. A summary of the census results is highlighted in the first part. The second focuses on the technical aspects including the objective, scope and coverage, relevant definitions and concepts as well as the operational procedures. Detailed statistical tables are included in the third part of the report to facilitate further analyses by users.
