Monthly Census of Rubber Estates 2011

The Monthly Census of Rubber Estates is conducted monthly via mail. Questionnaires are mailed to respondents at the beginning of the year and the time given to return the completed questionnaire is two weeks after the reference month, that is on/before the 15th of the following month (example: for reference month January 2011, the due date for submission is 15th February 2011). Among the data collected are area planted, area tapped, production and stocks of natural rubber. The data are published in the Monthly Rubber Statistics, Malaysia report which is available at the User Services Unit of the Department of Statistics, Malaysia. The statistics will be used as inputs for Government development planning.

The Monthly Census of Rubber Processors is conducted monthly via mail. Annual Census of Rubber Estates

The Annual Census Of Rubber Estates is conducted biennially. The census covered all rubber estates in Malaysia. The census is primarily conducted by mail enquiry using a questionnaire. Respondents are given one month to complete and return the questionnaire. Among the data collected are planted area, production, yield, employment, salaries & wages as well as detailed statistics on rubber estates. The data are published in Annual Rubber Statistics, Malaysia which is available at the User Services Unit of Department of Statistics, Malaysia. These statistics will assist the government in planning, formulation of policies as well as monitoring the development of rubber based industries.

Annual Census of Agricultural Establishment

Crops
The Annual Agricultural Establishment Census-Crops was conducted for reference year 2008. This census was conducted biennial. The total number of establishments covered was about 9,175 establishments. The census was primarily conducted via mail. Respondents were given one month to complete and return the questionnaire to the Department. This Census covered all establishments registered with the Companies Commission of Malaysia (CCM). The main objective of this census was to collect data and information of the establishments involved in crops sector. Among the data collected were income, production, stocks, number of persons engaged, salaries & wages paid as well as value of fixed assets. The data collected would be used for planning and formulating policies, including analyses of the agricultural sector.

Economic Census 2011 - Agriculture Sector

The Department of Statistics, Malaysia (DOSM) is conducting the Economic Census 2011 for agriculture sector with 2010 as the reference year. Agriculture sector comprise crops, livestock, fisheries and forestry & logging subsector. This is a mail enquiry census. Respondents are given one month to complete and return the questionnaires to the Department. The main objective of the census is to collect information pertaining to growth, contribution, composition and distribution of the agriculture sector to assist the government in development planning and formulating policies. The data are also used for the compilation of national accounts, input-output tables and specific studies. In addition, the results are used by policy makers, economists, planners and academicians in economic projections and analyses.

Agriculture Census 2005

The Agriculture Census 2005 was conducted as a complete enumeration which covers all household who had reported agriculture as the main occupation either as employer or own account worker. Agriculture activities include crops, livestock, fisheries and agricultural services. The census was carried out via face to face interview using a questionnaire. This census will be conducted once in 10 years. The results of this census can be obtained via the publication namely, Agriculture Census 2005-Crops. However, data on livestock, fisheries and agriculture services which were published via these publications namely Agriculture Census 2005-Livestock, Agriculture Census 2005-Fisheries and Agriculture Census 2005-Agriculture Services are for internal use only and not published for the public.
