The price for diesel is government controlled price as established by the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs.

The prices for steel bars, cement and fabric reinforcement published in this Special Release 1 are obtained from the price collection conducted by Department of Statistics, Malaysia.

Prices are reported according to 3 regions in Peninsular Malaysia as follows:-

North = Perlis, Kedah, Pulau Pinang and Perak
Central = Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, Melaka,
Negeri Sembilan, Selangor and Johor
East = Pahang, Terengganu and Kelantan

The price of the bitumen 80/100 penetration is based on the average ex-Kuala Lumpur price quoted to contractors by the main suppliers.

All prices mentioned above are relevant for escalation purposes only and should not be used to represent actual price levels.
