| The Consumer Price Index (CPI) Malaysia measures the percentage change through time in the cost of purchasing a constant basket of goods and services which represents the expenditure pattern of all households in Malaysia in a specified time period. It is calculated based on the international standard and procedures; known as the Laspeyres formula. The index which is expressed in terms of 2005 = 100 is a composite index, weighted by regional expenditure weights, of three regional indices computed separately for Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak. |
