| The Compendium of Environment Statistics Malaysia released by the Department of Statistics, Malaysia. The main objective of this report is to publish data pertaining to environment, impacts of human activities on the environment and actions taken to minimize the impacts. As in all other previous issues, this report focuses on four main environmental issues namely Air/Atmosphere, Water/Aquatic Environment (Inland and Marine), Land/Terrestrial Environment and Urban Environment/Human Settlements.

| This publication presents statistics on environmental protection expenditure for reference year 2008 based on data collected form the Survey of Environmental Protection Expenditure conducted in 2009. The main objective of this publish data pertaining to business environmental protection expenditure for the agriculture, mining & quarrying, electricity, manufacturing, transport and construction sectors as well as the motor vehicles & motor cycles sub-sector of distributive trades. This survey forms an integral part of an ongoing effort by the Department to collect, compile, analyse and disseminate environmental statistics. The main findings of the survey and related statistical tables are included in the report. Technical notes explaining the scope and coverage, sampling design, definition and concepts used are also provided for users' reference.
