This publication presents statistics on the Information Services and Communication (ICT) sector which includes publishing activities; motion picture, video and television programme; programming and broadcasting activity; telecommunication services; computer and information services. The information provided is based on the Census of Services Establishments conducted in 2012 for the reference year 2011.
Data related to value of gross output, intermediate input, value added, number of persons engaged, salaries & wages paid and value of fixed assets are published in this report. These data are used for planning and policy formulation as well as for economic projection and analysis by the government and researchers. A few ICT indicators also presented in this report are derived from secondary sources to ensure a more comprehensive publication.
This report consists of three parts. Summary findings of the survey is highlighted in the first part of the report. The second part focuses on the technical aspects including the objectives, scope and coverage as well as relevant concepts and definitions used in the census. Detailed statistical tables are included in the third part of the report to facilitate analysis by users.
