The Migration Survey Report, Malaysia, 2012 presents the estimates of the population's movement, flow and magnitude at state level, as well as the demographic and socioeconomic characteristics of migrants obtained from the Migration Survey 2012.
Migration or the movement of people is one of the factors that influence changes in the population structure brought about by changes in social and economic situation of a particular area during a specific period. Generally, different types of flows and characteristics of migrants will have different impacts on the state/area of origin and destination. It is hoped that the information presented in this report accommodates the planners and researchers in analysing the migrant and non-migrant population characteristics, as well as an input to the socio-economic planning and development of the nation.
