HOUSEHOLD INCOME AND BASIC AMENITIES SURVEY REPORT 2012 |
![]() ISSN 2232-1012 | The Household Income and Basic Amenities Survey (HIS/BA) 2012 report presents findings from the latest survey conducted by the Department of Statistics twice in every five years. The information on income is collected based on the guidelines from "A Provisional Framework for Household Income, Consumption, Saving and Wealth" (1995) published by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS), the guidelines from the "Final Report and Recommendations of the Expert Group on the Household Income Statistics" (The Canberra Group 2001) and Report II - Household Income and Expenditure Statistics (International Labour Organization, 2003). The main objective of this report is to publish statistics relating to household income distribution, incidence of poverty and hardcore poverty as well as basic amenities which cover education, health, housing and household appliances. The findings from this survey are used by the government for planning and monitoring purposes, particularly in the preparation of the Malaysia Five Year Plan. This publication also provides technical notes which contains the objectives, coverage and scope, concepts and definitions as well as the sampling design to enable users to have an in-depth understanding of this survey. The data in this report was compiled in order of state, ethnicity, gender, strata, income class, occupation, industry, age, household size and standard error. Download:
