Why do we need census?

  • Malaysian Population and Housing Census collects information on population and housing which consists of various aspects of demography, social and economy.
  • Census also provides information on total stock of living quarters as well as availability of basic amenities.
  • The data gathered will provide a comprehensive set of statistical information regarding on the flow, pattern and trend of the population, social and economy.
  • Input to the current population estimate and projection.
